How many of you are aware of the many professional societies that exist to support the interests of people who have careers in information management? There are many, including divisions of more general professional organizations such as the American Chemical Society. I have in the past belonged to many of these groups and found each of them very useful in furthering my professional career. They all offer excellent resources to learn, share and educate.
We will have a representative from 3 societies,
** Association for Information & Image Management (AIIM)
** Association of Records Managers & Administrators (ARMA)
** Special Libraries Association (SLA)
who have strong membership bases in the bay area to tell us how they have benefited via membership.
